-The ION Power Pack is a 25.2 volt removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.

-To insert, slide the ION Power Pack Battery into the slot on the back of the handheld vacuum. -To remove, pinch the release tab and slide the ION Power Pack battery out of the handheld vacuum.

-The lights on the ION Power Pack serve multiple purposes. One purpose is to show the remaining charge in your ION Power Pack while in use. The lights will also blink and illuminate to show the status of the ION Power Pack while charging. In addition, the lights will illuminate in certain configurations to inform you of any issues with the ION Power Pack.

-You can charge your ION Power Pack by using a Shark ION Power Pack Charger along with accessories such as the charging dock and wall mount. Please note that only Shark chargers should be used to charge an ION Power Pack. Consult your instruction book for approved models.

A single power pack runtime is approximately 23 minutes with new battery on extended runtime in handvac mode. You can benefit from hassle-free cleanability by swapping out with a second battery which will give you over 40 minutes of cleaning in extended runtime mode - more than the Dyson V8 Absolute! If customer requests specific run times for the different modes: -The ION Power Pack, like all lithium-ion products, will naturally decrease in capacity over time from the 100% capacity of a new battery. -These times are based on 100% capacity. Mode - Expected Run Time: -Handvac Only Max Power - approx. 11 min. -Handvac Only Extend Runtime - approx. 23 min. -Floor Mode Max Power - approx. 12 min. -Floor Mode Extend Runtime - approx. 20 min. -Carpet Mode Max Power - approx. 11 min. -Carpet Mode Extend Runtime - approx. 14 min.

-The initial charge on the pack is approximately 30%. Fully charge the pack " 3.5 hours minimum / overnight preferred " and assess battery performance. - Note that battery run time is affected by the amount of work you are performing. Vacuuming on high pile carpet while using Max Power will reduce battery run time quicker than vacuuming bare floors. - If you have more than one battery, it is recommended that you use each equally in use and charging.

- Your ION Power Pack may feel warm in use as air passes through the vacuum. If it feels uncomfortably warm, stop using the vacuum and allow for the battery to cool. If the battery continues to feel warm, or you see any LED indicators as outlined in your instruction book, contact Customer Service. -The charger is designed to monitor many factors of the battery. After use, batteries can get warm " a condition that is not optimal for charging. In such cases, the charger waits for the battery temperature to decrease to the optimal point before it begins charging. Your ION Power Pack may feel warm in use as air passes through the vacuum. For optimal performance, clean filters on a regular basis. Between washings, your filter can be tapped clean to remove any excess dust and other particles into the trash. -Pre-Motor Foam and Felt Filters: Under normal usage, rinse and let air dry completely (for at least 24 hours) once a month. -Post-Motor Filter: Under normal usage, rinse and air dry once every 9 months or as needed.

The pre-motor filters are located on the top of the handvac. Turn off the power and remove battery. Place the rest of the vacuum on the floor. Pull out the filter assembly. Gently separate the cylindrical foam filter from the felt. Rinse both filters with water until the water runs clear. DO NOT use soap. Let air dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling. Slide the foam filter back onto the felt filter and reinstall. The post-motor filter is located under the handle of the vacuum. Press the button to remove the cover and pull out this filter. Rinse with water until the water runs clear. DO NOT use soap. Let air dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling. Certain dry temperatures in winter or dry desert areas may cause common static electricity to build up in the vacuum and produce small shocks, similar to what you might experience from door knobs, wool sweaters or blankets. This is harmless. In order to avoid this, we recommend moisturizing your hands and/or removing wool socks or sweaters prior to vacuuming.

It is possible that the vacuum has overheated. It is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. To reset it, turn the power off and remove the battery. Check for clogs or dirty filters. Clear any clogs and wash filters as is necessary (refer to Instruction Booklet). Wait a minimum of 45 minutes for the vacuum to cool. Then reinsert battery and turn the power on. If the vacuum still does not start, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398.
