The Shark Rocket Zero-M Corded Ultra-Light stick vacuum is equipped with Shark's exclusive Zero-M technology, which actively removes hair wrap from the brushroll.
Zero-M technology is an innovation to the main brushroll in the cleaner head that actively removes hair wrap as you clean. It is meant for all types of hair: long, short, and pet hair. The unique bristle guard and comb separate hair from the brushroll and sucks it into the dust cup.
If you see any hair wrapped around the brushroll, extending cleaning time will assist Zero-M technology in removing it for you. We recommend using High Pile Carpet Mode on a bare floor surface or low pile carpet or area rug. Run the vacuum back and forth to allow hair to make its way to the dust cup. If some fibers remain wrapped around the brushroll after continued use, use a coin to turn the 3 locks counterclockwise to lift off the cleaner head cover. Carefully remove debris from the brushroll and clear airway of blockages. Replace cover, pressing firmly along all sides and turning the 3 locks clockwise to close.

We offer crevice tools in a variety of lengths, plus our Dust-Away Hard Floor attachment or an Under-Appliance Wand that cleans under and behind hard-to-move appliances, furniture, or any tight area. There are two ways to clean with the accessories. Either separate the handheld from the rest of the vacuum by pressing the Wand Release button or keep the wand connected to the handheld and remove the cleaner head by stepping on the foot pedal release. Choose the desired cleaning accessory and slide it onto the end of the handheld vacuum or the end of the wand. Use either power setting as the suction power is the same in either mode. Note that the accessories do not need to be pushed all the way onto the vacuum to be secure. Only a few of the accessories latch into place with the click of a button (e.g. Mini Motorized Brush, Flexible Hose).

There are 2 easy ways to empty the dust cup. Make sure the unit is unplugged first. Then remove the dust cup by squeezing the 2 Dust Cup Release latches on both sides of the dust cup base and pulling it straight out. Place the rest of the vacuum on the floor. Hold the dust cup over the trash and press the bottom door release button on the front to empty. To reattach, insert the dust cup straight back into the hand vac. Or, separate the hand vac from the rest of the vacuum by pressing the Wand Release button. Next, hold the dust cup over the trash and press the bottom door release button on the front. Tap gently to empty contents or wipe clean with a soft cloth. Press the door shut again until it clicks. The dust cup should be emptied each time you vacuum and when the dust cup appears full, or, for optimal performance, when it reaches the max fill line.
Check to see if the filters need to be cleaned if the vacuum is not picking up dirt, airflow is restricted, or you notice lighter or no suction. You can tap loose dirt off filters between washes and wash them according to the regular cleaning schedule-once a month for the pre-motor filters; every 9 months for the post-motor filter-to maintain optimal performance. Refer to your Instruction Book for more information.
We recommend washing your filters once a month. Simply remove the filter lid, remove the foam and felt filters underneath, wash both with tap water until the water runs clean, then air-dry completely (at least 24 hours) and replace back into your vacuum. You can also tap loose dirt off filters between washes as needed. It is important to note that your foam filters may appear dirty after first use--this is normal. These filters will discolor over time--this is also normal. Extra filters are available for purchase at sharkaccessories.com if you want to purchase a spare set to keep on hand, but the good news is these filters will last the lifetime of the vacuum.

There are 2 convenient ways to store this vacuum. Detach the handheld vacuum from the top of the wand and hang it from the hook located toward the bottom of the wand. Then wrap the power cord around the two cord hooks. Or, install the wall mount provided with your vacuum. Note that hardware is not included, but refer to the instruction sheet provided. Another option is to simply lay the vacuum flat on the floor. There are rubber pads on the base of the handheld vacuum that prevent scratching.
